Hey,

I have a table (products) which I export to a txt-file.

The source table is being copied/pasted as "structure only" and thus empty.

When I now import the data from the txt-file, it gives me an error-message "import cannot be achieved because of key conflicts; errors are created in table products_importerrors"

when checking this error-table, it mentions "type conversion failure"

What can this mean ??

Regards,

Peter

Hi

Well type conversion error means you are trying to put (say) test data into a numeric column, or a none date, in a date column, etc

From you description, you are exporting data from a table to a text file, then re-i,porting the same data into a table with the same structure, this would suggest such conflicts were not possible, but they are happening, so have you changed the table structure (even the sequence of the columns within the structure) between the export and the import? Ken,

Thx for the reply.

The table structure is not changed during export / import, but you showed me the right direction.

I found out that all my numeric fields were exported as text-format. I'll try to play with a configuration file to use for the export. I saw it should be possible when consulting the help-files.

Thx anyway for your help.

Reg,

peter
