Error processing the on tape catalogs

Well as the subject says I'm getting that error whenever I try to do a backup. Its on SBS2003 running BUE 9.1, I have uninstalled BUE 9.1 and reinstalled and still the error appears. Communication with the tape is fine as the erase runs ok, but the backup fails after about 3mins.

If it helps it's on a Seagate Travan backup device.

Help appreciated......
