I have a PC that prints to a printer hosted on another machine. It prints to it via LPT1 > \\machinename\printer. The application we use prints through DOS so we have lpt=\\machinename\printer.

The problem is that every so often, a print job is sent and when you look at the queue, the job does not appear right away. An F5 does bring the job up but there must be another way.

As well, it sometimes will say Error Processing Command on the status bar of the print queue window.

Below is what I've done....

- Deleted/reinstalled the printer on both PC's
- Only thing that corrects it is rebooting her machine
- Changed LAN speed to 100 Full from auto
- Disabled virus scanning
- Stopped/Started spooler on both machines
- Renamed profile
- Manually deleted driver and reinstalled on both PC's
- Deleted the LPT port and reinstalled it and rebooted
- Tried a different Proprinter driver
- Changed the LPT_Timeout to 2 on both PC's in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\WOW
- Added the following to the System.ini on both PC's
[Network]
PrintBufTime=10
[IFSMGR]
PrintBufTime=10
- Opened a DOS window and put in "echo ^L > LPT1" and entered that in when it came up with Error Processing Command.
