ERROR : Pre-CE IIS install on XP Pro

I looking to set-up CE on my laptop for training and demos.

I Installed IIS on my local machine (LAPTOP) from the XP Pro "Add/Remove Windows Components" with all boxes (and sub-boxes checked), but it doesn't show-up in my Administrative Tools Console

I've checked, and the IIS files are installed correctly at C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\INETSRV - and the service is running.

http://localhost/localstart.asp

also works.

...but when I try to run inetmgr - "I get windows cannot find..." - and when I try to run C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\INETSRV.exe, I get ->

Microsoft Management Console
Snap-in failed to initalize
Name:<unknown>
CLSID:{A841B6C2-7577-11D0-BB1F-00A0C922E79C}

Anyone seen this before...?

Based on a suggestion on the Tek-Tips "Windows XP Pro" forum, I disabled my NORTON INTERNET SECURITY PROFESSIONAL 2004 - uninstalled and reinstalled IIS and it worked fine.

After the IIS installation, I rebooted and enabled Norton again...everything is OK.

Good tip to keep on file.
