Hi,

We have a V2 Electronics external SCI hard drive connected to our Windows 2000 Server and it has a couple of shares on it which several users access across the network.
Whenever, a Windows user tries to open any share on this drive they get the following error message: error performing inpage operation

However, when a Mac user connects to one of these shares, they see a few of the files only in there. An attempt to open a file from there results in a disk error message.
Not sure what the best way to go forward now.....

sebjenkins,

You have not specified what V2 solution you have.

Is this a new problem?

Was it working and then started this behaviour?

Is it visible to and/or accessible from the server?

V2 supplies several storage solutions i.e. DAS, NAS, SAN, and provides install and maintenance utilities for each.

If this is a recent purchase, I would suggest that you obtain support from V2 as they have an interest in insuring that you are satisified.

O.k. we have resolved the problem with the inpage operation error.
I ahd tried to run a Check Dsk Through Windows but was unable to.
However as soon as I rebooted the Windows 2000 Server that this drive is connected to Windows automatically ran a chk disk on the drive and after lots of remving orphan files and deleting index files (thats what the log said!) the drive was accesible once again.
Phew !

sebjenkins,

I am glad that you are back in business with this.

Thank You for posting your success.
