Running LL9.5 with Oracle 9.2. Am able to add items such as folders and text documents to Livelink but if an attempt is made to add a document (word, pdf or any such thing) the following message ensues:

Error parsing the GET/POST data stream

Does anyone have any ideas ? Nothing in the log files looks untoward that I have seen.

is this livelink on apache ? what is your webserver?
Have you opened up the upload folder to the service user ?

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

LOCAL SERVICE has RW access to the external directory (the upload dir?). The web server is IIS 5.1.

Many thaks - the pointer helped me to realise what was missing - the upload directory was not specified. Once added uploads are now possible :). I knew that I was a little rusty.

no need for upload directory windows\temp the default upload directory also goes without saying should be opened up.When you are uploading a file to the web server the deafault place the file comes is c:\windows\temp that should have full rights to the livelink service user otherwise you will find files starting with LLA..... there.By applying the upload directory livelink looks for files that you have there that is why it works IMHO.
