Error opening files after win2k upgrade

After upgrading the workstation from Windows 95 to Windows 2000, the user was unable to get into a .dwg file that was previously accessable, in AutoCAD LT 2000i. An error "Cannont find the file 'filename'(or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available. After reinstalling and repair installing the Autocad LT, the problem still existed. This occurs both from the network drive the file is located as well as on the local C drive. Some simpler drawings could be opened, but other drawings experienced the same problem. Please advise.
