Hi, I'm working on an Excel 2000 applicaiton. I have made a few modifications on it and for some reason it craches Excel on startup now. I would like to deactivate the startup macros so that I could at least visualise the code but I made myself a digital signature and trusted my myself so now even if I put the security level to the maximum my macros execute and crash my Excel.

Any Ideas on fetting rid of the digital signature? Or any help at all? Thx

Please somebody help,
I have a backup that still opens but its sort of a while back. I need to get this file running again.

Thx

Getting rid of the selfcert certificate: try setting your system clock some 10 years on. Selfcert certificates expire after about 5 years, I think.

If you want to get to the code though, that may not help a lot. If you disable macros another way, you'd get this message that says macros for this project locked or something.

If your code is mostly in regular modules and not behind user forms, opening the workbook in OpenOffice would at least let you copy your code to a new workbook.

hey ilses

I have abandonned the workbook and started working on a backup. I would like to know what OpenOffice is though.

Thx for the reply

OpenOffice is a free open source office suite. Like MS Office it's a bundle of a few programs. OpenOffice's wordprocessor is called Writer, the spreadsheet program is called Calc, a presentation program called Impress etc.
