Hi all,

I set up transactional replication in a pull scenario. Also enabled xp_cmdshell on both servers. One of the cleanup jobs keeps erroring out with the error below.

The job is the distribution cleanup job:

Could not remove directory '\\servxxx001\repldata\unc\SACxxx001_EXP_xxx_xxx xxx DATA FOR REPORTING\20070911172234\'. Check the security context of xp_cmdshell and close other processes that may be accessing the directory. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 20015). The step failed.

Any suggestions?

Check the permissions on the repldata share. Make sure the account you are using to execute the xp_cmdshell has access to it.

And that the account which is running the delete command has full control of both the share and NTFS permissions.
