error on exit

Dear friends..

I have a problem that when I close my applicataion
and want to quit from the prgramme it shows an error

'can not clear the object in use'

how to remove this error that I can quit from visual foxpro.

Do you have "CLEAR EVENTS" somewhere in your project, preferably in your main form?

There are a number of threads on this subject, but without the search facility, it's difficult to point you in the right direction.

Have you set an ON SHUTDOWN event trap?

If you have and have not included the line
ON SHUTDOWN &&clear event trap
In the procedure it can loop infinately. Very annoying but easy to fix.

Hi Siddiq,

It sounds to me that you have issued the CLEAR command within the event code of an object.

The simple fix is to move the CLEAR command into your main .prg after your READ EVENTS. Jon Hawkins
