Just installed a 4.1 server using the quick setup. I can login with admin and browse the directories from a workstation but when I try to run nwadmin, I get the subject line error above and I can't see any tree or users or objects. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

make sure you have the correct frame types setup on both the server and workstation. 802.2 should be the standard for IPX communications. Also make sure you have the latest and greatest patches installed on the 4.1 box to coincide with the Novell client.

Mark,

Thanks for the response. I looked all over on the Novell Website and found an article related to the problem. The NIC automatically goes into "power down" state after a little while and all the user has to do to reestablish the connection is to hit o.k., re-enter the password and their back in. I will look for a way to disable the power down state on the nic.

The OS is 4.11 that comes with patch 6.0. and loads pk411.nlm automatically. I started to download nw4sp8a.exe via a document I read but no longer exists. The newest is nw4sp9.exe. Most of the patches listed are already in the 6.0 but maybe I should download the newest anyway. What do you think? I'm also using Client32 Version 3.3.
