I just set up my Outlook Express today...

It keeps giving me these errors every time I open the program;

"Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Symantec Fax Starter Edition (1)', Server: ' Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Authorization Required', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC32"

then;

Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. Account: 'Symantec Fax Starter Edition (1)', Server: ' Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Authorization Required', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC32"

and then the rest of the errors are like this (pertaining to each individual email);

"Outlook Express could not download the requested message. It is likely that the message was removed or expired from the server. Subject 'Welcome to Military.com!', Account: 'Symantec Fax Starter Edition (1)', Server: ' Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Authorization Required', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC32"

Can you guys let me know how to fix this or get rid of this?

'Symantec Fax Starter Edition (1)' is an unusual name for a hotmail account, but it shouldn't matter. It could be that the hotmail server is just having problems.

smah,

I know that 'Symantec Fax Starter Edition (1)' IS an unusual name...i tried setting it up using "POP3" but that didn't work...

I had to opt out using the HTTP way and that worked but it gave me that title and wanted to hook up fax settings and stuff...

I get my email but with errors all over the place...

How do I get rid of this?

The name doesn't matter and it can be anything that you want. This can be changed to anything under Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, top input field.

Do you have Symantec Winfax Starter edition installed? Do you use it? I'm not sure what you mean by 'opting out' and 'errors all over the place'.

I think that install came with my Norton Software...

I tried to connect using HTTP and POP3...

I finally got to fix it i think...i had two identities and they kept conflicting...some reason...

so know i have just one and and seems to work fine so far...still gives me error signs at first but once i click "Synchronie all folders" it refreshs my entire inbox and it works fine then...
