Error: Null or Not an object

I am getting an error on IE with this java script which is saying:
d.value is null or not an object
where d is a text box value.
can anyone help please?

Basically I am trying to use the JSE Internal Search engine here(got from

http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/script2/jse/index.shtmt)

and I am getting the error for the value of textbox for the search.

Why don't you just pass as argument d.value? You don't need the whole form in you function.
