Error: Norton AntiVirus Realtime Protection failed to start

I installed Norton Corporate Edition 8.1 on a 2003 Small Business Server with 6 clients. Everything was fine for 2 months, then I received this error: "Norton AntiVirus Realtime Protection failed to start."

I checked the Realtime Protection settings under the configure tab, downloaded and updated the Symevnt files via DOS prompt, restarted the server, and checked to see if all symantec services were set to start automatically.

I seem to be at a stand still with this issue.

You might want to post this in the Symantec: Norton Antivirus forum.

Many viruses now disable NAV/SAV. If not, reinstall it on the server.

You should just reinstall norton Corporate 8.1,
8.1 has a lot of problems, or was it 9.0?
