One of our OE workstations has been getting an error message the past few days with this heading. The message states:
"Abnormal cleanup of MacSqlConnMan in MacMSS.dll. No server exit op provided! Some client & server resources may be left in an unknown state."

I searched the Macola customer portal, but I have the darndest time finding anything there. Anyone here run into this before? I am going to try having her work at a different workstation temporarily to see if it is a workstation issue or system issue, but she is the only one getting it so I SOUNDS like a workstation issue, but I'm not sure at this point. Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks,
Stacy

You would only get that error message after first getting some "other" error message. The one you are mentioning is one that is "cleaning up" the system after the first message.

The first message is the important one.

I was afraid of something like that. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the slightest clue as to whether there have been any other messages. She said she just ignored the first couple. Is there any way to find out now or re-create a scenario to find what that first message might have been?

7.6.200 creates some error logs in the macsql root but if you're running a version prior to that, you would have to wait until it happened again.

That shows how much I know ...I thought we were on the most current version of Progression, but we are on 7.6.100a. I looked through the log files that are there in this version, but the only thing recent was a print error or two. The annoying thing is this person is getting the "abnormal cleanup" error a couple times a day now. Something isn't right and that makes me nervous. We've had one major crash already and certainly don't want another one. But I do appreciate the reply.

Make sure she shows you or does a print screen of the first error message. We can then figure out what could be causing it.

I've seen this fairly often w/power users. I think they blow out of tasks they think are "hung". You might want to re-install the macola client as it doesn't take very long.

Hint on searching the macola portal: use one word at a time, since it is a cumulative search.

Have your end user make a screen shot of each error as it occurs. Saves having to write it down for her & will help you figure it out more quickly. You might need to rebuild one of the tables she is in when the errors start to occur.
