Hi,

I have an upload from an ASA (Sybase)server to SQL 6.5 dB. After the load I run a stored procedure that creates a cube. sp_cube_unit

After I run the cube I get back a long list of results regarding this "error msg. 2627, Level 14, State 1 Violation of the primary Key Constraint." It just started happening, can anyone tell me what this error message is and how can I fix it?

Christine
christine@spsinc.com

The error message indicates that you are attempting to insert a duplicate record - or at least one that has the same values in the fields that make up the primary key. Is it possible that you have run the same upload twice?

Yes it is possible. We outsource the task of uploading the Sybase data (server is in-house). A situation occured when event records where missing from the most recent upload. So we asked them to do it again. Only of the records that seemingly didn't make it in. The upload goes like this: There is a VB app that basically says if record not found insert if true (found)update. It references a cross reference table and bam we have data. How do you get your data from your Sybase system to SQL 6.5 ? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
