Error Messages - What do they mean pls?

Hi Folks

The company has bought pseries 6E1 server to replace the old J40 server, I installed AIX 4.3.3 and Oracle 8.1.7.4. Had probs trying to start up oracle listener, resolved this issue and now when I try to run other oracle applications I get this error messages and I do not know what it means. Any one explain pls.

$ sqlplus
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program sqlplus because of the following errors:
0509-130 Symbol resolution failed for sqlplus because:
0509-136 Symbol pw_post (number 272) is not exported from
dependent module /unix.
0509-136 Symbol pw_wait (number 273) is not exported from
dependent module /unix.
0509-136 Symbol pw_config (number 274) is not exported from
dependent module /unix.
0509-136 Symbol aix_ora_pw_version3_required (number 275) is not expor
ted from
dependent module /unix.
0509-192 Examine .loader section symbols with the
'dump -Tv' command.

This sounds more like an Oracle problem. Have you asked that forum?
 
But why it does not have any ORA-<number> error messages (indicates oracle probs) so this is more likely an AIX probs which I am not certain at the mo.
 

KOG, when you install Oracle it is very importent to follow the steps where the kernel is configured and then reboot.
Did you do that??

Looks like the oracle kernel extention is not installed. Look for a similar line in your inittab

orapw:2:wait:/etc/loadext -l /etc/pw-syscall

This is added when you run rootpre.sh during the oracle install process.
