error messages (cannot initialize ASI)

I am running Autocad 2000i on XP and I am getting an error message that says "Internal error cannot initialize ASI" When I click ok it gives me another error message of "Error handler re-entered Exisiting now".

Find mdactyp.exe on the Autocad install CD and run it.

I tried that but it said that it has already been installed and would not reinstall it.

i had this same problem. went to

http://www.microsoft.com/data

and downloaded the MDAC 2.8 service pack and uploaded it. It fixed the problem.
