I am having trouble creating even a simple button in Access. I keep getting an error message no matter what button or whether I use the wizard or VBA coding. The message says that "A problem occured while Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX control. Has anyone encounterd this problem before or know how to get around it. Please post a message either Yes or No so I know whether or not I need to go about this project a different way. Thanks.

I'm not sure, but I don't think it's anything you've done. It sounds like you've got a messed up install. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Access? Rick Sprague

No the IT people where certain that it wasn't the install so they would not reinstall Office. I decided create a database using the database wizard (I used the order placing database) and the buttons created in this database worked. I then loaded a database I had created a couple months ago and these buttons all worked. I then created a new blank database with all the information I needed and imported all the tables from the other (non working) database. I recreated the form and (a little smoke and mirrors later) presto everything is working fine. Thanks for you help.
