About a month ago, my friend was viewing an image file on a cd. He =thinks= it was an Illustrator file. File was named "simply basics".
Then he ejected the disk without dragging it to the trash. He said he just held the eject button down on the cd drive.
Then the mac (dual proc g4, 450) froze & he had to force a reboot.
Now, months later, when he opens various apps like word, excel, power point, illustrator, he gets a message: "please insert disk =simply basics=". He presses OK & the message goes away then comes right back, over & over about 10 times. Then it goes away & the app continues to load successfully. Again, this message appears just as he launches an application.
He has only 1 folder on his disk named "simply basics". It is a folder he created to store customer files.
Please help.
Mike
