I have to PRI coming from a cisco gateway (MGCP 6608 blade) I'm gettting protocols error on my pbx. I get PRI error 232. Any Idea what this means?

PRI0232
Protocol Error: PROGRESS INDICATOR not supported. Output data: DCH: x
DATA: y . Where: x = D-channel number and y = Message type.
Action: Contact your technical support group if the problem persists.
R18
Severity: Critical

This means the Cisco switch is sending a d-channel message the Meridian doesn't understand, ie an integration issue. Good luck in getting that resolved as my experience is that Cisco & Nortel will sit there pointing at each other.

What you need to work on is the type of signalling you are recieving from Cisco. We use Call Manager with a Cisco and were able to get PRI working. We have since disco'd it since we don't work that project anymore.

I the RCAP of the DCH, try NI2 or ESS4/5 to get the dch to work. It will work....It's just a signalling issue.
