Error Message

Hi All

I have CR and CE 10, I have this one report which reports of 3 different data sources.

I can open the report in CR all fine but when I try opening in CE I get the following error message :
There was an error retrieving data from the server: service was not found.

I have checked all the db setting and password and all ok.

The report was working in CE but all of a sudden stopped working.....I can open old instances but when I try to schedule a new instance i get the above.....I have tried everything I know....plz help....

What database and version?
What connectivity method?
Whe you say can open the report in CR . do you mean on the same PC as the CE services are running?

Thanks for getting back to me......

the db's MS Excel 2000 and MS Access 2000 and SQL 2000....
I have done the UNC connection method and can get the data back to a blank report......

I can open the report on the serever where CE is stored and also on my machine and even checked the report job server/page/ras/program job server have admin right ....

Any ideas?

Does this mean using Crystal reports, or? Stating specifics are important, especially since your post seesm to contradict itself as you later say:

When something used to work, and now it doesn't it often means that someone messed up some settings.

Check all of the ODBC settings and permissions to the files required for the report (Access and Excel).

If that fails, please post consistent information and state specifics:

I can open the report in CR on the server and on my terminal as earlier stated....

I have the error message appearing when I try opening the report in CE. I am unable to open the report from CE from the Server and from a intranet site from my machine.....

When I schedule the report in CE it comes back successful but when I try opening the report I get the following error message: "There was an error retrieving data from the server: service was not found".

Check all your servers. Stop and restart.
