I created an Excel 2000 file at home under MS Windows 2000. At work using Excel 2000 under MS Windows NT 4.0 I can't open the file. The error message is:
'file.xls' cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding.

I assume you saved this to a floppy. This is very common. If you did not keep it at home, you can try running scandisk and defrag on it and try to recover the file. Otherwise, just copy it from home again onto the floppy. I might suggest--never SEND TO FLOPPY from the File menu. Always copy files onto floppies using Windows Explorer.
