Error Message while compacting Access DB

I am trying to compact an Access 2000 DB (which is 795 MB)and I keep getting the following error:
Could not find field 'Description'.
There is not a field in the DB called Description (and never has been), so I am not sure what this is referencing.
Can anyone help?

It's probably an error in your VB code. Search your entire project for "Description" and see if there is a line of code that is in error.

Eric,
This is a very simple "back end" database that only holds tables and a few very simple append/delete queries. There is no VB in this DB.

I would try exporting all the objects into a new database. Other than that there are some utilities out there that can try to correct database problems. Off the top of my head I think one is called JetComp.
