Recently when I try to export PageMaker 6.5 files to PDF format I get the message "Post Script Output Failed". I never had this problem until the last month or so. Most of my PageMaker documents are only two pages, but occassionally I have files that are between 8 and 16 pages in length and have several pictures. I need to convert these files to Adobe to email them to others who don't have PageMaker.

I have been to the Adobe website several times, but can't find an answer. I have checked my post script file in PageMaker and everything seems okay. Any ideas??? I have even tried reloading PageMaker, but that didn't work either.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks! [sig][/sig]

I had the same problem, since I had changed the color of some text lines from magenta to pure blue.
Then I selected a different color and it worked.
Thus my recommendation:
Go back to the state, where the conversion was OK and isolate the offensive modification.
Or try to make a new layout of the erroneous page.
In my opinion this must be a software error.

I also encountered this problem recently. The file name I was using included some special characters, like _ (underscore) and the file name was fairly long. I renamed the .PDF conversion file to a shorter file name without special characters and the conversion went fine.

One reason is this: objects outside the printable area.
Zoom out. Select all, then you can find perhaps "lost children".

Soccer,
If it is possible for u, can u pls mail the problematic file to me at vishalg@adobe.com

Hi Soccer Mum,

I agree with Guitar man re the length of the file name. I had the same problem and it was to do with the length of the pathway to the file. Fr example, try moving the file to the desktop then do the export process.

Cheers
