Can anybody help me.

I am working on a 123 file and wish to save it into Microsoft Excel. However, whenever I click on File/Save As/Microsoft Excel I am presented with the following error message...........

1-2-3-[name]:123w.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x00000105" referenced memory at "0x00000105". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

My question therefore is, how can I correct the fault? Is the fault with my laptop memory or with the installation of Lotus 123?

I look forward to your replies.

Hi CRML,

I can't help with the error message.

However, what about using the reverse method...

Use Excel and open the Lotus file in Excel. I know that Excel will open files with extentions up to ".WK4".

If the file extention is different because of the version of Lotus being a more recent version, then first save the file in Lotus - but choose to save the file as a ".WK4" file.

I hope this will help, and that it will work. Please advise as to how you make out.

Dale Watson

Thank you for your advice. I saved the file as a ".WK4" file and ie opened in Excel fine. However, when I save the file in Excel I get the following message.....

The selected file type does not support workbooks that contain multiple sheets.
To save only the active sheet, click OK.
To save all sheets, save them individually using a different file name for each, or choose a file type that supports multiple sheets.

So, I decided to copy and paste each of my 6 sheets into a new Excel workbook.

But, the problem I now have is that any references on, lets say, sheet 1 to data that is on sheet 2 is being picked up from the orginal file. This means that if I were to delete the old file the data would link into my new file.

Therefore, is there an easier way than re-linking data from sheet to sheet in the new Excel workbook, with my method of retyping the links (for example =[Sheet 1]B5)?

I hope that makes sense!

Thanks

CRML

CRML,

When I did testing, I didn't encounter any problems with a multi-sheet WK4 file.

When you saved the WK4 file from Excel, did you use: Save As, and then opposite "Save as Type", did you specify "Microsoft Excel Workbook (*.xls)" ???

I hope this helps. Please advise.
