Error message when I copy information from cd to HD

I have been trying to copy information off a data cd to my hard drive. It will get anywhere from 50 to 75 percent done before a black screen flashes up and my machine is being restarted. After the restart I recieve this message:
I am getting this message:

I have Xp pro with SP1 installed. Thank you for any advice.

Plenty of hits at Google on this. Some mention a corrupt Paging File as the cause.
