Just installed ACT 2008 on my laptop and cannot open any database that was carried over from my desktop (created with ACT 2008 as well). I receive the following error message: "Cannot find database supplemental files folder act_database files in this location etc." I also cannot move my ACT folder from one folder to the next for similar reasons.

How are you trying to move your database?
You need to back it up, the Restore | Restore As
Or better yet, set up synchronisation if you want the data on both machines
