I recently installed Norton's System Works Pro 2002.

Win98SE

I ran Clean Sweep and deleted unnecessary files. When I boot up I get an error message "The configuration file is missing." Everything seems to work OK. What does this mean and how can I replace the file? There are no other details.

Thanks,

Rus

That's not a windows error.
I'd do a Start/Run/msconfig and do a "clean boot"...unchecking all the startup files...write them down and reboot. (shouldn't get it then) Then load each of the items you wrote down from Start/Programs until you find the one that sends the boofus message.

Gargouille,

Thanks for your help. I followed your advice and the error message disappeared.
