error message "no such interface supported" Homesite 4.5

i have loaded my copy of homesite 4.5 on my new computer with xp (service pack 2 included) and the program locks up when i start to use it. the error message is "no such interface supported" Has anyone else experienced this problem and how can i fix it.

Google on "no such interface supported". There are several pages. One might fit your situation.

I encounterd the error while using a Paradox database. It seems to pop up in lots of programs. And the term doesn't ever seem to make sense.
