Error message on Segate Tape Drive

I am receiving an error message "invalid command
05-20-23-00-0403" when I try to do a back-up on a segate tape drive.

Me, too. I'm getting that error on four of six tapes I just tried to reinitialize. I don't believe the tapes have all suddenly gone bad.

Can anyone help?

I had to give up tape back-up when I went to XP. It seems that they don't make new drivers for my Colorado drive.
