I'm running a CR XI report in BO XI which gets various bits of information about our customers. When I run the report for a small customer it works fine, but when I choose a larger one it runs for about 40 mins but then crashes with an error message 'Not Enough Memory for Operation'. The data comes from as AS400 database as is exported as an excel spreadsheet (data only). The only objects that are selected are ' Export page header and page footer ' and ' Simplify page headers '.

Why am I getting this error and what can I do to fix it.

Many thanks for any help given.

How are you running it?

Scheduled instance or View on Demand.

If scheduled, the Crystal Reports Job Server will process it. Jobserver.exe will spawn a jobserverchild.exe. Watch how much RAM it consumes and compare it with the available RAM on the machine.

If View on Demand then one of the Pageserver.exe will process it. Do the same, watch it in Task Manager and note how much RAM it consumes.

(Use Task Manager to view these exes)

Alternatively, install CR XI onto the BOE XI server and run the same report through CR on the BOE XI Server. You should get a more descriptive error message from CR than BOE XI.

Another thought, Excel has a 64000 row limit and a 12000 active cell limit. Maybe you're hitting one of these.

Another thought, Does the report successfully run to a default(RPT) or PDF format?

I just received this error for a text format report. A restart of the report job server corrected my problem.

Hi,

I also got the same error. The reason what i observed is it is taking the whole memory space on the server where the report is running and not is able to allocate space to other reports. The solution that i got from the tech support is they "asked me to create a new job server in CCM and schduled the report to the new job server by creating the server group, then it should work. "

if you didnot restart the server at that time if some other reports are running at the same time the error might change to "Crystal Reports: Print Engine error
