error message in xp pro

hey all
i have an error message coming up with xp pro. This has just been completely reformated, with a new hard drive put in, but it keeps shutting down automatically, and giving me an error message.

I gather it is either a Ram problem, or it is a video card error, but am stumped as to find out what it is, as the comp keeps on shutting down when started,

error message is as follows

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 80536ba7, parameter3 f6dbeb48, parameter4 00000000.


any ideas?
