I am using a file on a peer to peer network. The file works great upon the computer on which it resides. File uses 6 databases with joins. when I try to open the file on the remote computer I get the following message:
Unable to build an index required for the join. Some of your joined records may not display properly. Make sure there is enough disk space and the combined length of the joined fields is less than 450 characters.
37GB of space remaining on the drive. 31 characters in the joined fields.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Rick

You need full update rights to the database files so that Approach can update its indexes.

I have the box allow network users to change my files checked for the folder in which the files reside.
Any other suggestions?

Is there a difference in Windows versions between the two computers? There could be a permission problem between the two. For example, I have an XP and a W/2000 system. I can access files on the W/2000 system from the XP, but not the other way around. It is not a problem I need to resolve here, but like you I have folders shared on the XP system that the W/2000 system cannot access at full update level.
