Hi,
I'm getting the following error message while trying to intall PostgreSQL:
"Account Error
Invalid username specified: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password."

I get this message during the service configuration screen. I leave the account name as postgre and enter in my own password. I had previously installed PostgreSQL a while back, but I forgot the password, so I uninstalled it and any of the info and am now trying to set it up again but am getting this message.
Any help would be appreciated

The right way would have been to get root-privileges, and change the password instead of reinstallation.

I suspect User postgre(s?) wasn't removed, and you have to do that first.
What platform are we talking about?

Hey,
I was able to fix the problem. For anyone else, here is the solution for future reference:

From the Start menu select Run. On the next window type COMMAND and hit the OK button.

On the DOS window that opens type:

net user postgres /delete

and hit the ENTER key.

Type EXIT to close the DOS window.

Try to reinstall PostgreSQL.
