Error Message: could not use file already in use

Hi all

When more than one user tries to open the same mdb database the secong one gets this error message:

"access could not use < > file already in use

why?

Have a look at the Open mode in menu Tools -> Options ... -> tab Advanced

The open mode is set to "Shared

Any user opening any object in Design view locks the DB for exclusive (since ac2k I think).

Users are not opening the database in desing mode, they are only doing data entry

The users must have FULL rights on the .ldb file.
