I have inherited an InfoPath form that is not bound to a table or database. The users have a text box where they enter the account ID, and they enter the account name. I tried to build a look up for them so they don't have to enter the account name. I receive the following error on this form....YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO BIND A NON-REPEATING CONTROL TO A REPEATING FIELD OR GROUP.

I changed the binding of the text box to the field on the new dataconnection. I also see the values of all the records in the table in the repeating section.
How can I get this to work. I am kind of new to infopath.

Normally you bind repeating information to a control like a listbox or dropdown, not a text box. (What do you mean when you say "repeating section"? Is this another control on the form?) When the user chooses the account from the dropdown, you can populate the other field(s) with the value (not display) of the dropdown.

I built a query which contains an ACCTID and ACCTNAME.
I want the user to enter the account id in the ACCTID field and have the query return the ACCTNAME value.
This works in a new form with queryfields and datafields.
However, I have been given a form that is not bound to any data, they simply enter and email....I am trying to simplify a few areas of the form. But what happens, is ALL THE RECORDS in the query are displaying on the form when it opens.
