Error Message Backing Up Exchange

I'm getting the following Error Message during a Brick-Level Backup of Exchange mailboxes:

Failed to read from database. \\EXCH1:\Individual Mailboxes\John Smith\Calendar, EC=EXCH1 Backup Agent Error - 315 Creating Thread Failed.

We're using Arcserve version 9.x with the latest patches/updates applied. And we have Exchange 2003 with SP2. It only does it on this one mailbox, but it causes my backup to hang and eventually fail. I've tried rebooting my Backup Server and restarting the Backup Agent Services on the Exchange Server. Any ideas?

check the mailbox for attachments, there is a good chance there is a e-mail with attachment that is causing the problem.
