For the last fortnight or so, I have been unable to access the internet on my PC. I can dial up to my ISP and all seems to go well until I try and open a site in IE 5.5. I always get an error message saying 'The page cannot be displyed'. I went through the process of clearing all Temp files, uninstalling and re installing TCP/IP and dial up networking, all to no avail. I even followed through the full procedure in Microsoft article Q241344. More recently I found the following: While using Internet sharing, my other PC that is peer networked does allow the pages to display, even though the 'master computer' still has the error message. The other thing I noticed is that if I ping in the DOS window, by using the normal address ( nothing happens. If I use the numbers (144.135.18.10) I get a good response. Please help. If I Have to fully reinstal Windows is there a way without loosing my existing programs, regards.
