Error logging onto a server

I have a server at a remote location. It is a DR box that is part of a 2-server mirror, using HP OpenView Storage Mirroring. Mirroring is working properly, but when i try to log into the domain this server (Windows 2003 Storage Server), i get this error:

Sytem cannot log you in due to the following error: 
The RPC server is unavailable.

I can log in fine if i log in as the local admin (as opposed to logging into the domain.)

I hesitate to reboot this box because I don't know what it will do to our mirroring, as I am not familiar with it because the person who used to run it has left the company.

Any ideas of what may be causing this?
