We are currently using an Aspect ACD 200R System, Release 7.2. We've been unfortunate enough to encounter two major troubles within a week of each other. The first fault was cleared with the immediate replacement of the Media Bridge Card. A week after, another operations-affecting fault was encountered in the same machine. We've extracted the error log files from the Aspect ACD System Activity Logs. However, we can not interpret the log fully and relate this to the fault we've encountered. Here's a cut of the log file from that date (March 18, 2004):

03172004 18:38:19 SYSINFO Network connection established Remote client Port 6000 86 SYSTEM rmss.c 167
03172004 18:38:19 SYSINFO Network connection established Remote server Port 6000 86 SYSTEM rmsc.c 316

We would like to know if we are right in interpreting this as somebody who accessed our system remotely. We're interested because this would give us a hint of the events prior to the problem we've encountered on that day. Thanks a lot!

This message is usually from the Primary CPU initializing communications with the backup. It is normal during a reboot, or an online resync (after the backup comes back up). If your system re-initialized during this time due to the fault, it is normal. Otherwise, it could indicate that the primary and backup systems are having trouble communicating normally.

In either event, it is not from a remote access to the system.

yes, the module is rmsc (remote message service client). primary and backup have this running, they talk to the rmss of the other controller to distribute messages in redundant systems.
they talk using their internal network, _not_ the customer lan. no danger...

Also, could anyone pls. interpret our Aspect ACD alarms
below.

CRITICAL Internal software error Error TRILL ERR ErrParm1 21027 ErrParm2 3 27 SWITCH \callcenter\su 4923
CRITICAL Internal software error Error TRILL ERR ErrParm1 21027 ErrParm2 3 27 SWITCH \callcenter\su 4923

Your kind assistance will be highly appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

Can you post the entries immediately before and after the Internal Software Errors?
