error installing mysql 4.1.9 on OpenServer 5.0.7

Trying to install 4.1.9 on SCO Openserver 5.0.7 .

When running /usr/local/mysql/scripts/mysql_install_db, I get the error "dynamic linker: ./my_print_defaults: relocation error: symbol not found: main; referenced from: /usr/lib/libgthreads.so".

I have FSUpthreads 3.9 installed which is a dependency, but can't get any further. Any suggestions?
