Hi

I'm having trouble with IDCS1 on my Mac. I have a document which has a simple element which has the shadow effect applied. When trying create a pdf it says could not finish pdf. So I make it compatible with 5 or 6 but then it makes the pdf and when opened in acrobat says 'error in shading dictionary' and doesn't show the graphic elements.

I have checked 'convert to process' when making the pdf because it wouldn't even make the pdf if it was not checked.

This is a simple document so why can't I make a pdf!!!!??????? aaargh :-(

Thanks

Also replied to this question in my Acrobat forum thread...

Basically the problem was a rectangle which had a gradient that went 40% black to 70% of a pantone colour. I presume by this you shouldn't make gradients with pantone colours blending into cmyk colour.

So I changed the pantone into the equivalent cmyk (luckily it was fairly close) and it fixed it instantly.

Job done :)
