Line device call cc_MakeCall, failed on Channel 28, Error:- Error reason = 258 - Incompatible destination.

This is copied from the event viewer. Has anyone seen this error, and have more info?

sounds like it does not know the number it is dialing or the PBX does not know what to do with thw dialed number

Thanks, Ken. But, this suddenly started happening. It happens when I try to transfer from the names directory. I have set to "Transfer to invalid" in VMSC. When caller attempts to transfer, the MM says "That extension is busy." Any other thoughts? Thanks again.

Well it must be hearing a busy or reorder when it tries to transfer to the number from the PBX

could you be transfering to the defined operator which may not be valid?

just a thought.

No, this happens when transferring to any extension from the names directory.

Problem solved. I must have fat-fingered something without realizing it. Call setup in VMSC was set to U-Law, instead of A-Law. We are using E1-qsig, so it must be A-Law. Transferring again with no problem.

Makes sense because QSIG uses the 28th channel as a "pseudo DSE port" to transfer. Without the 28th port working in QSIG, you will experience several varied issues.
