I transferred my datbase to the labtop, and the query shown below no longer works, leaving the Graph after it blank.
Here is the expression
Ausdr2:(Format([HAUPT].[Shipdate];"mmm jj"))
the new computer does not recognize above statement which should format a date to "Aug 05" (for example).
It however works on the main computer.
Any idea?

Rainer

Assuming j is Jahre/Year? I would try "mmm yy" - but there might be other things in play here too - I'd probably experiement with different things in the query, to see what works...

Hi Roy, thank you for your quick response. Yes your assumtion is right, I am using a German version.Somehow it seems that access does not like the(;)???.
But your suggestion did not solve the issue-unfortunately.

Rainer

For the semicolon, see thread702-733634. Access in my experience toggles between using semicolon/comma flawlessly when toggling language version.

Why the format doesn't work - it could be a missing reference - in VBE - Tools | References, see if any is marked as missing or invalid. If so uncheck. Recheck if necessary. In any case unceck and check the DAO library. Would it be possible to apply the formatting somewhere else than in the query? For instance in the form/report where you're using this?

Hey Roy,

Thanks for your help. it was indeed a missing reference.
