Error in connecting to oracle database

Hi All,
The oracle database on Solaris 8 is up and port 1521 is also listening.But when I try to connect to the database from the server using sqlplus,I am getting ora-03113 error.
When I restarted the listener service,I was able to make the connection but after 5 minutes when I again tried I was unable to make the connection.What could be the posiible problem.
Any help would be appreciated??

I am having the same problem. I have read a couple of things.

1. 3113 is a catch-all code (real helpful)
2. This is a bug from Oracle. I am about to investigate on Oracles Partner website and see if they have anything out there. JW

Ok....if u find anything useful then do post it here....
I,however,when restared the oracle database,the problem was corrected.....
