I'm trying to run a report in an ASP page. The report has charts. Whenever the page loads, I get an error - "Invalid TLV record".

According to Seagate's knowledge base, the problem is a missing dll - pg32conv.dll to be exact. Unfortunately, when I try to register this .dll, the process fails. Trying to unregister the .dll also fails. I've tried this on three different machines so I'm sure the problem is not a corrupt .dll. ( BTW - if you were wondering, the .dll is definately on the systems ).

Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Brian Podolny

mjbp: The fact that you can neither registger nor unregister the DLL does suggest that there is something wrong with it. Have you tried re-installing - the DLL concerned is almost certainly part of the PG Editor option so make sure you choose that. David C. Monks

We have tried reinstalling and we get the same problem. It also seems strange that this is ocurring on two different machines. Thoughts of ours have been:
Windows 2000 issue
VB service pack 5 issue
IAS issue

Unfortunately, we're still stuck

I was having the same trouble with Crystal 8. Tried everything. Included all DLLs I could find. Nothing worked. I tried it with Crystal 8.5 and didn't get the error, but the charts are all blank. Can't figure out that one yet. By the way, pg32conv.dll is a shared component and you don't register it. I believe the setup program writes the appropriate registry info for it. You may try just copying it to the c:\winnt\system32 directory.

Just figured out my problem with the missing charts in version 8.5. Turned out I was missing the pg32conv.dll file. Not sure how I missed that one, since I know I had it in my installs for the Crystal 8 files. Therefore, I fixed the TLV error by upgrading to Crystal 8.5. I also just dumped the files that were in the c:\Program Files\Seagate Software\Shared directory into c:\WINNT\System23 folder. Register the ones that register, don't register the ones that won't (they're shared function libraries, not registerable components). Put a shortcut to Regsvr32.exe in your Send To folder, that way you can just right-click, Send To, Regsvr32 on the dlls you want to register.
