Hi everybody, i have installed sendmail 8.11.6 in my AIX 4.2.2 server, when i run sendmail it works very good except for one problem, (i have created the aliases file in the /etc/mail directory, and use makemap -v dbm /etc/mail/access < /etc/mail/access to create the database) everytime the server receive an e-mail y got this message in the syslog "dbm map "Alias0": missing map file /etc/mail/aliases", although i can receive the e-mail but i don't want that this message appears anymore, so does anybody know what is the problem??
thanks in advance

i wrote:
"and use makemap -v dbm /etc/mail/access < /etc/mail/access to create the database) ", and this is good for the access but has nothing to do with the aliases.

sorry

hope somebody can help me

After you edit /etc/aliases you need to run "newaliases" or "sendmail -bi" . You will see the format for aliases but it looks like this:

aliasname: realusername

This should fix you up.
