Hi,

I have a magneto-optical device (hdisk1). I can't mount the fs because the varyonvg command shows

Trying lattrr -El hdisk1 shows:

queue_depth 1 Queue DEPTH True
q_type none Queuing TYPE True
q_err yes Use QERR bit True
clr_q no Device CLEARS its Queue on error True
rw_timeout 30 READ/WRITE time out value True
start_timeout 60 START unit time out value True
reassign_to 120 REASSIGN time out value True

lscfg -vp -l hdisk1 shows me:
hdisk1 04-C0-00-5,0 Other SCSI Disk Drive

Manufacturer................SONY
Machine Type and Model......SMO-F541+3
ROS Level and ID............312E3137
Device Specific.(Z0)........008002021F00009A

I can mount all other magneto, but there are some method to recover this magneto disk??

SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH¡¡

thank's.

Hi,
I have not experience with magneto-optical device,

but something is not clear:

If the device has already data ( exported vg ),
you have to execute an importvg (smitty vg).

If the device is empty, you have to create a vg, before
varion and create lv.

ciao.

Thank's for all, but I just discover the error. The magneto disk was protect and aix can't mount the device when is protected. Oh my god¡¡¡¡

I think I was going crazy.

Ciao.
