Does anyone have an idea how i can resolve the following:

Within CC6 if you go to report wizard you get the following error:

There is an error getting the RCW License, Please contact the CCMA administrator for resolution.
Invlaid license type or user id
License denied. User: webadmin, License Type: LM_RCW_USER (Nodal)

I am logging on locally and remotely as webadmin but makes no difference.

Windows event Log Gives:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: CCMA-LMService
Event Category: Minor
Event ID: 61602
Date: 18/05/2009
Time: 17:51:27
User: N/A
Computer: CALLCTR6
Description:
Request for License denied:
Error: NILM_LICENSE_DENIED, License Type: LM_RCW_USER UserID: webadmin:10.0.1.58.

Thanks

reboot the CCMA server. By default you get 1 RCW license; if it's used and the user did not log off the PC/CCMA correctly, it's hung up in limbo.

The best solution is to add 3-5 more RCW licenses and it will free up RCW lic's thru the day.

Have you ever been able to use RCW? Did it use to work and now it doesn't?

It it never worked, it is possible the original 1 user license was not installed. While it is true you receive one user license with CC 6, there are additional steps required during the installation to enable it. Often times, the installation team overlooks the RCW license in their rush to meet the customer in-service date.

Hi,

We have never used the RCW, so it sounds like it was missed during install (along with a catalog of other mistakes by the engineer).

Thanks for that i'll take a look through for the license.

What you need to do may vary based on whether you have CCMS and CCMA co-located on the same server or not. I searched through the Installation and Maintenance Guide for Co-residency and found three areas you need to check: IIS configuration, Installation of Crystal 10 embedded software and License Manager Configuration.

None of these are very difficult and the documentation is pretty clear. Just make sure you get the Installation and Maintenance Guide for your configuration and follow the steps. Or, get your vendor back to finish the job (sounds like you were not too pleased with him).

Hi,

Try this steps

1. IIS Manager > RCW Properties > Directory > Select Integrated windows authentication.

2. Check on LM how many license are in use for RCW.

3. Reboot CCMS, CCMA Server.

or follw-up documentation steps for RCW configuration.

Thanks & Regards

Thanks for all the help guys but looking at the Nortel printed license and it appears that our supplier did not include it:

Report Creation Wizard
Users: 0
Extension Databases: 0
Extension Users: 0

Why can't it just be removed from the web interface if no licenses are installed, otherwise supervisors ask to use it :-(

To verify whether you really have a license logon to the CCMS server (assuming that is where the LM file is located) and open license manager and check to see if a RCW license is available. I had a similar problem after upgrading to 6.0, but my issue was because the LM service config wasn't setup correctly on the CCMA server. As in, the CCMS CLAN IP wasn't entered. Good luck.
